Sausages?

Hey,

Are sausages bad? U know stuff like lamb sausages and beef sausages...should i be steering clear of them, anyone know?

Cheers ;)

I think you should because I was wondering the same thing not too long ago so I did some research on the nutritional values and they got loads of fat although I'm sure the values variate

sausage is usually 70%. look at a label. Usually have about 20g of fat, 9g of protein, and maybe 1g of carbs from sugar used in flavoring.
And that 20g of fat is mostly saturated.

Even when bulking, avoid the sausage, and if you must, consume in very light moderation.

Three words. Alfresco. Chicken. Sausages.

Undeniably the best sausage I ever ate and everyone that I ate them with also agrees. I only found them in one market around here (Dave's marketplace). Do a google search and you wont be disappointed.

There are plenty of lower fat options for sausage (Chicken, Turkey, Ostrich, Bison to name a few), still gotta watch the sodium in them though, they are usually very high in sodium.

These chicken sausages, do they have to be soem sort of special low fat ones or can they just be any ordinary chicken sausages?

Is there anything more special about them to beef or is it just coz chicken has protien. Liek i mean the fat levels?

I got Kangaroo sausages, and yeah, I think I can give up on beef sausages from now on :D

you know, even though I'm an aussie I've never tried kangaroo. what DOES it taste like? and please don't say chicken.....

oh and make sure you get light chicken sausages, they still have a fair bit of fat.

Kangaroo is really nice.
Can't really explain it but its was like a very soft chicken steak... I dunno if it tasted like chicken because there was some sort of sauce with it when I had it.

we make our own sausage out of deer and ferral hog that we kill throughout the year. very good and low in fat since venicen is a very lean meat. the only fat is the small amount of pork we add in.
