Hello everyone,
My name is Simon, I'm a fitness instructor and new to this forum. I have a question about the Salter Body Analyser Scales.
Two main issues with them really. It has 'normal' and 'athletic and male and female modes.
When I have tested my body fat % in athletic mode, it shows it as 10%, then in normal mode it shows it as 35%!! I'm definitely more like 10%, I hope so anyway!!
Why would there be such a massive difference? It should test what's there, irrespective of whether you think you're athletic or normal!!
Also, I tested a girl in athletic mode and it showed her bf% as 10%.. She's a slim girl, but she's not 10%!!
I tried myself with all the right details, except I changed it to female, and it halved my bf% to 5%.
Can anyone tell me why these scales/analyser would have such differences in 'normal' and 'athletic' mode and male and female settings??
I'm guessing that everyone should use the male and athletic modes, as this would seem to give the correct bf, as I would say I'm about 10%...
Thanks a lot in advance
Simon
