sagging stomach

It seems the more I lose weight, I don't see any lift in my hanging stomach... I walk and do situps occasionally...is there anything that you suggest to pull up the pouch?

Just keep consistent with your efforts. Don't go crazy with the situps either. Where people tend to have problems is usually the last place the fat will come off.

Steve,

What do you mean, don't go crazy with the situps? I have the same problem with my stomach, how many situps should I do?

I only brought it up b/c many people have this misconception that if they do a bunch of sit ups, it will magically tighten the fat on the belly. Sure, you're working the abdominal muscles when you do crunches, but that's not doing anything regarding the fat. The fat, at least the subcutaneous kind that most see and fret about, rests on top of the fat.

In theory you don't have to do any crunches.

I rarely do in fact.

Is it actually fat? or is it hanging down as in skin?

If its the latter it may never tighten up without surgery. The latter generally happens if you have been severely overweight or had problem pregnancy with fluid retention :O
It will however be flat when you have lost enough weight, however it wont ever go away.

In all honesty, you are still overweight by a fair amount yet. Mine didnt go away or even look smaller until i was about 180ish, and even now it hangs down.

If situps are not the answer, then what do you do to get rid of the fat? I don't understand alot about how loosing fat, diet, and exercise work together.

you may lose the fat through working out but that doesnt mean the skin that was streched will recover. it may it may not you don't know till you get there... i've had a sagging belly since i got pregnant with my first baby over 4 years ago and as i lose weigh i find it sags more and my belly button is frowning more and more lol... i dont know till i lose the weight but im pretty sure even after the only thing that will help me is surgery... it may come down to being happy with yourself the way it is or consider surgery to correct it but you really wont know until some time after you lose the weight...

Well, the basics is... create a caloric deficit which forces your body to tap into it's reserves (fat) to fuel life.

I highly suggest reading the stickies.
