i really want to try to run and job but after a mintue my sides on my stomach cramp up badly....

what should i do?? should i start off slow with something else?

Exactly, start off slow. There are plenty of running plans out there that will help you become a runner. One of the more popular ones is the "Couch to 5K" program on coolrunning.com - .

The key is to not overdue it. Start slow, build up your endurance gradually. Within a few short weeks, following a good plan, you should be able to jog/run a few miles.

Good luck!

the cool running plan is the bomb. if you go to itunes and lookup podcast for running there is a guy who put music to the work out and give you cues to change pace and intervals and so on. its freaking awsome the perfect way to get into running cus its all at your pace. you only move on when your really ready for it.

If you are having pains, do what others said and walk or start slow

I am a huge runner. As you can see by my weight/BMI, I go through long spurts or running/not running. When I get into running, I love it and end up losing a LOT of weight. When I stop, I gain a LOT of weight.....putting aside my reasons for that, I will just tell you this

Whenever I start up to run again, it is always tough as I have a lot of excess fat and I am out-of-shape. So, I always take it easy my first few times. If I can't go a long distance (like....half a mile), then I don't and I walk the rest

Do little challenges for yourself. I run outside of a park and I love to always pick trees or parts of the park for me to run to next time....whether that is just another 100 yards or 200 yards or even 100 feet :)
