Running or Jogging?

I've heard many different reviews on which is better for you, running or jogging. At the gym now I do this: walk 1/2 mile, run 1 mile (takes 8 minutes), walk 1/2 mile....

My question is, should I stick with this to lose weight or should I jog for 20 minutes? Any ideas?
 
Keep your heart moving. The harder you push yourself the more you will get out of your workouts. I really don't think you start burning any noticeable difference in fat until around the 20 minute mark. If you can walk after your jog then push yourself harder. lol
 
I don't know, i've heard walking is just as good as running. The secret is to keep your heartrate up for 20 min's.
