Running for 15 mins everday...is it worth it?

Will 15min of running training everyday be beneficial to my fitness?

Hi, I'm a 16 year old male and I was wondering if running for 15min everyday will improve my health and overall fitness my Dad said something like 30min, four days a week will and nothing else, but 15min everyday must add up. Am I right in thinking that 15min of training everyday will help me?
 
Even though I voted yes I think that your father is correct. Running is a form of continuous training (unless you doing intervals) so the longer the better within a 2 hour time frame a good start is 30 mins for sure. But as you progress you need to overload so that means longer time, distance and/or more intensity.
 
yeah well running for fitness all depends on what you want to accomplish if you want to simply burn some calories then yes speed work outs is wonderful although it will simply not chalenge the body by means of stamina to accomplish increasing your stamina and overall health yes a 30 minute work out is benificial yet by not chalenging the body overtime with a faster pace no benifits will come to you. simply because the body will get bored and the work outs you started out with will burn less as you get fitter, that is if you just simply run the same distance, time or rate every day. but if you switch it up you will become fitter and perhaps lose the unwanted weight you may have desired to get rid of.
 
as i said in my post

You will get gains from running for thirty minutes it WILL benifit you but as you progress you do need to use the training principle ( and this principle applies to all types of training ) progressive overload.

So its the same principle reiterated.

Although a simple 15 minute run daily will help...it won't help as much as it could. 30 minutes is just a little longer and it will obviously double the good for your body.

Aerobics period help you fight off the little cold's and infections, give you more energy, relieve stress, and when you are done and all covered in sweat...you can just think about how good you've just done. That's usually worth if for me.

Just don't push it.
