Roys giving it another shot

Well I first attempted some weight loss back in 2010 to varying success (http://weight-loss.fitness.com/threads/43442-Roy-s-diary-starting-Sep-12-2010!).

What basically happened was:

August 2010 - started to lose weight by low carb and running
Sept - Oct 2010 - kept it up and lost probably 10kg over two months of dedicated dieting and fitness.
Through to June 2011 - moderate exercise but slowly put on weight
June 2011 to now - exercise dropping off to nothing and eating habits getting worse. Now weigh more than when I started in 2010.

So tomorrow is the start of my new weight loss and fitness regime.

Why tomorrow? I start a new job this week and the last couple of years I have been working on jobs with a long commute which made it hard for me to do exercise before or after work. My new job is closer to where I live so it should be easier to go for a run or gym before heading to work.

Also, I am approaching 30 years old - getting old and must try to get some fitness back before it gets harder.

So my plan is to start low carb dieting again, along with running or gym each day.

Start weight - say 105 kg
Waist - 48 in
Hips - 43 in
Neck - 19 in

Shit, after taking those measurements I realise how far I have slipped....

No looking back, Mr! You have to look forward at what you can achieve :hurray:

Are ya gonna log food as well? Or just post exercises and stuff on here?

@ sunflower: no, I will log my food as well. Hopefully it will keep me on track.

Today was the first day of my diet and exercise regime.

Exercise - nothing (had a uni assignment to finish which was a priority but that is it for uni for me for a while (maybe next year if I decide to go back to it)).

Eating - had a couple small pieces of toast for breakfast - not ideal but it was the last of the bread in my house and now it will be easier to avoid bread.
- had some celery and peanut butter for snack (forgot how much I love this low carb snack).
- dinner will be a roast with my housemate, so it will be low carb. I told him of my diet and it mean that we no longer will cook for each other (I used to cook on Mon and Wed, him on Tue and Thurs). This was a big step as now I have no excuse to get to the gym or go for a run after work before cooking dinner.

Monday 24 June

went well today.

IF for 20 hrs, only a small latte.

Dinner - 300 gm steak and big salad

Exercise - 40 min jog/walk (D1W1 of the C25K programme - Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.)

Congrats on making the decision to give it another go. I hope you find success and reach your goals this time around. Don't dwell on the past. You're here now and are making steps towards where you want to be. :)

You know, I think I've been missing out. I've never tried celery and peanut butter. Have always heard how good it was, but never tried it. Same with peanut butter and bananas. I'll have to try it sometime. It does sound tasty!

Thank you for your encouragement Mandy. I hope you liked your celery and peanut butter.

Today was ok. IF for 18hrs.

Lunch was a pie and coke zero, was out on site so bakery option was easy, though not great.

Dinner was steak and salad again.

Exercise was 20mins of gym. Doesn't sound like a lot but it was 3x8 reps of 5 or 6 machines and some bar bell stuff. Was sweating after and a good first session for ages. I reckon I will try to walk to and from the gym in future though as a warm up and cool down.

Sounds like a good game plan. Interesting that you had steak for dinner last night. That's what I'm having tonight! :)

@mandyH, clarissa: thanks for your motivation.

Today was no good.

No exercise.

lunch was a 6" ham subway roll and coke zero.

dinner was Thai take away for my sister's bday. Then had some celebratory drinks.

So feeling good but bloated and tired.

Need to have a good day tomorrow to make up for it.
