Royal Navy Fitness Program

Hey,

I'm currently going through the process of joining the Royal Navy. Obviously i need to achieve a certain fitness before joinging and I was looking for some advice on a good program.

I am 25 have been going to gym for past 2 years and would describe myself as fit and healthy. I currently do a split weight training program with some CV on days off. I would just like to know if this is the best option? I dont set my days and rest days as my job and other things dictate this so i work on rotation of the following.

Day 1 - Back/Triceps
Day 2 - CV
Day 3 - Shoulders/Abs
Day 4 - CV
Day 5 - Chest/Biceps
Day 6 - Rest/Light CV
Day 7 - Rest

Any Help would be appreciated.

Lee

Hey Lee, Sorry that your post hasn't been replied to yet!

I don't know specifically what you'll need to do for a royal navy program, but there are a couple of threads that might help you out with a strength training program:

As for cardio, incorporating interval training a couple of days per week might be a good idea along with long-distance cardio on other days. There is another thread here that gives some explanation of HIIT:

If you know someone who is already in the Royal Navy, it might be a good idea to talk to them about the training and requirements so that you know you're training properly leading up to any testing.
