Routine for weight loss

How is this for a Routine?

Been reading a lot on this forum for the last week and getting some great info, but I have a couple of questions regarding a new routine. I am for the most part in shape, but like most, would like to drop a few pounds. I am familiar to weights and cardio and working out, but not really been focused until now.

I am 38/5' 10" @ 220lbs about 20%BF with a muscular but soft build and my main goal is to lose weight and somewhat maintain the muscle I have.

All cardio will be on the elliptical. Also, the gym is 2 miles each way from where I live on base and will be riding my bike to the gym every morning to workout (0430 M-F)

Mon-Cardio 30min Level 3* continous @ 60 rotations a min
Tue-squat, row, bench press, DB curls (All 3X8)
Wed-Cardio 30Min Level 1* (4 mins @ 60 Rotations a min, then 1 min @90)
Thu-deadlift, pullup, military press, dips (All 3X8)
Fri-Cardio 30min Elliptical Level 3* continous 60 rotations a min
Sat-4 mile run (To gym and back)
Sun-OFF
*will try and move up levels every 2 weeks and will move up in weight for an exercise when I can complete 3x8 with good form.

I am also going to work on my diet with 1750-1900 calories (6 meals).
Please advise if this is a good routine or what I can do to tweak it to better reach my goals of dropping 20lbs in 12 weeks. Thanks for the assistance.

Good advice above. I would also recommend turning your 30 min eliptical sessions into interval training where you push yourself really hard for a couple of minutes, then ease off for a couple of minutes. This is more difficult, but if you do this right, and really push yourself during your high intervals, you can get away with doing only 20 minutes of cardio instead.

Interval training elevates your metabolic rate for a longer period after your workout than straight endurance training.
