Routine change

Iv been told that its best if you change your routine approx every three months, because you muscles get "used" the the lifting. It makes a bit of sense, but I would still like to know if it is actually true and if any body knows the mechanics of it.

mainly change to keep things fresh and add variety, dont let your body get accustomed to your workout

I thought it got accustomed to it in a few weeks? 4-8 for beginners and 3-4 for people who have worked out a while??

i change every 8 weeks myself. 6 was too short, 10-12 was too long for me.

IMO, find what you respond best to. :)

2 questions here:

1) what does IMO mean ? :D

2) how can u be so imaginative ? I mean there is not 100 of exercice for a muscles....
For chest for exemple: db incline, decline and horizontal... that's the best... I mean free weight is always the best... what else can we do ?

IMO = in my opinion

You can switch it up also in respect to the # of reps, how big the weights are, time under tension, rest time in between sets, exercises, days of workouts, etc.

Ethan01 nailed it right there.

can changing even the smallest things be considered a change? like does changing rest time really help?
I always thought just changing rep # and weight would be a good enough change for example
3-4 weeks: 15 reps low weight
3-4 weeks: 10 reps higher weight
3-4 weeks: 12 reps medium weight
3-4:weeks 15 reps low weight
and so on

oh yeah and what is time under tension?

Well, in general you should be improving every week, adding 1 rep to an exercise each week until you hit 12, then upping the weight 5 lbs and doing 9 reps is change enough. If you keep improving then dont change your program
