I registered in 2009 and I never posted anything. I'm here for support because I can't diet anymore.
I'm Alex btw, male, 32, a little over 6'3" tall and 335 lbs.
I've been overweight since I was in 4th grade. At the of 18, I weighted an impressive 310 lbs.
I got tired of being overweight and lost 60 lbs between mid-1999 early 2000. By mid-2001 I was at 215 lbs and enjoying life at its fullest. Then in 2003, I joined a local college to pursuit a major in business. I lost track of my weight being occupied with school and little by little I gain most of it back. In late 2006 I was back at 295 because I started to lose my hair and I was very depressed and started eating again. In 2007, I went to Italy to do my internship and came back at around 260 by summer 2007. After that I have been gaining weight because the older you are the harder it is to diet.
Now in 2012 I'm in an astonishing 335 lbs.
I can't diet anymore. I'm confuse with what is dieting vs lifetime change vs maintaining weight. Every one says is not a diet is a lifetime change. Granted, but how do I defer the two once I reach my goal?? The other reason I break my diet is that i need to lose so much weight (around 110 lbs) that I lose interest in dieting.
I have already overcome the hair thing (not completely bald but I have a high receding hair line) and I really need support, motivation and ideas how to stay on track with diet and exercise.
My first step is to lose whatever I can by December 22nd (my sister's wedding) and my long-term goal is to weight 225 lbs muscle mass included in whatever time is necessary!!
Thanks and hope to hear from you!!

Just wanted to say "hi" and welcome you to the forum. I would suggest starting a diary in the diary section. It's a great way to get all your questions answered, and to get motivation. Hope to see you around....Good luck!!:)

Welcome and well done making your first post. One of the keys to keeping the weight off is not to go to extreme with you your diet to begin with.

I have tried and failed extreme diets this past 2 years. Usually they were 1,200 calorie diets with no complex carbs. Eggs with no bread? Chicken, fish or meat with no rice or potatoes or pasta? a sandwich with no bread? The most I have lasted with this type of diet is 2 days!!!!!! Hahahahaha, I don't have the stamina I had when I was 20. I can't do those diets anymore. Now I need to accept that it's going to take between 12 to 18 months to reach my goal!!
