Rollin out the journal!

So I started my lifting program yesterday. I'm following "The New Rules of Lifting" and it seems like the program that it has set up is great!

I started with the 2 week begginer sessions as I have little to no experience with lifting. The first session consisted of:

5 min cardio warmup.

Squats - 2x @20lbs +bar which I'm guessing bar is about 40 lbs.
Static Lunge- 2x each leg @30lbs

Free weight row w/ elbow out - 2x each arm @ 20lbs first set/30 lbs second set.

Push ups- 2x @ 15 reps first set, 10 second set.

Swiss Balls sit ups- 2x @ 20 reps.

Back to the gym for workout plan B tonight. I was supposed to go last night, but my legs hadn't fully recovered from the squats! I have several stairs in my house, and I looked like a crippled old man goin up and down them. Although going down them was the worst! Will post routine later tonight.

Plan B workout on 3/26/07.

Warmup- Treadmill, w1min, r2min, s2min, cooldown 1.30min.

Deadlifts - 2 sets, 15 reps @ 70lbs +bar. (I think I started with too much weight because my back hurt afterwards, or wrong form, or both)

Step ups - Didn't happen because aerobic room was in use with. . .aerobics!
One are dumbell press- 2 sets, 15 reps @ 20lbs.

triangle thingy overhead to chest row pull (cant remember the exercise name!) 2 sets, 15 reps, first set at 70lbs, 2nd @ 80lbs.

Reverse crunch - also didn't happen because of aerobic room being taken.

To attempt to make up for the exercises I couldn't (not wouldn't) do, I got on the eliptical for 20 mins.

Plan A again of break in program in NROL

5 min cardio warmup, treadmill

Squats - 2x @50lbs +bar
Static Lunge- 2x each leg @30lbs ( these are horrible!)

Free weight row w/ elbow out - 2x each arm @ 30

Push ups- 2x @ 15 reps first set, 11 second set.

Swiss Balls sit ups- 3x 15, 10, 10.

I'm amazed at the results I'm already feeling from just 3 sessions. When I first looked at the break in program, I thought that it was going to be to simple and that maybe I should just move onto the Fat Loss I program. I'm glad I didn't. When I get on the treadmill, I'm amazed at how much longer my legs last and how much further I'm able to run without stopping. A week and a half into the program, and it's already amazing me. I can't wait to keep workin with it!

On a heavier note, I need to change up my diet. It's not great. I want to see max results, so come Monday. . .Tuesday rather ( Reds opening day is Monday, and I plan on having a bratwurst and a beer, can you blame me!) I will be changing my diet.

I've been out of commision since Monday. I went to the Cincinnati Reds opening day game and forgot to bring me some sunscreen. So I am burnt really bad, and it hurts to move my arms and legs, so I haven't been able to make it to the gym at all this week. It's killing me because I really want to go. Hopefully me being out hasn't affected me to bad, I'd hate to start all over with the program. I'm hoping that by tomorrow I'll be in better shape and I'll be able to make it to the gym.
