Yesterday I walked to Wal-Mart (about 3-4 miles) bought a bike a rode it home. Let me say I am 22 years old and it might have been 10 years since I had last ridden a bike. It took a little while to get use to it again. Once I got with it, it was quite a workout. A lot through grass which makes it quite hard. Even just on sidewalks was challenging after awhile. Perhaps the fact I was working on an hour and a half of sleep and still hung over slightly had an effect on my energy level.
Basically what I am asking is: how good is joyriding on a bike around town in regards to exercise for weight loss? I might eventually ride to the gym, lift weight, then ride home. (Gym is around 7 miles round trip).
Thanks.
