Rice--

A lot of the diet and exercise programs tell you to cut down on the carbs and stuff by not eating much rice and bread and stuff after 3:00 pm or things like that. But, Asian people eat rice on a daily basis, my friend is Korean and he eats rice with his meal everyday for dinner. He is skinny, but not built (only becuase he doesnt work out). This doesnt really make sense, because rice is packed with carbs, isnt it? Also, thinking back to my trip to Korea with some family and friends i remember meeting many korean people who were very skinny, especially children. These people all eat rice for lunch AND dinner yet stay incredibly healthy. My question is.. if cutting down on carbs helps you lose weight then why arent asian people fat since they eat rice everyday???

I dont think that carbs make you 'fat' unless you eat too many of them. I think its more a question of reducing carbs to become 'lean'.

So, eating rice everyday wont necessarily slow the fat burning process, but cutting them out will help you to gain muscle?

think of this, if you eat mainly rice, how much nutrional value is there ? Also, notice how short they are ... do you think that their diet could have anything to do with that? Rice is very healthy, but you can not survive on it alone .

Vietnamese did during the Vietnam war :D Well maybe they had a few other things also.
