In a bid to put on some pounds, I've started eating a serve of a "staple" food with every meal (wheat, rice, potatoes or beans).

I've gained about 10lbs over four months, and there doesn't seem to be any unusual side effects (no change in digestive system, energy, or whatever else)

I doubt there's a time when rice could be bad for you - but I might as well put it to the board.

- is there any reason I shouldn't be eating so much of these types of food?
 
Magic fricken rice.

Generally white Long Grain or Brown (Shop I go to has about 15 kinds of white, and only one style/brand of brown. They're Ricist!)
