Resistance Band

those are exactly them. Pretty handy for corrective exercises. Great website.

I got some of my stuff from:

A lot of the products are pure BS, but if you sift through that, someone of it is outstanding.

The jump stretch bands are limiting for a few reasons.... when used in combination with other equipment - the actual band contacts the metal surfaces and sharp edges(if present)...it causes them to nick and peel apart... I know cuz two sets of mine did. Also, when you choke them up when attaching them to machines, how much resistance is it then?? Who knows?

Also... if you visit elite fts . com and see their videos on all band exercises... they have to do things differently to do traditional exercises ie., leg curls, leg extensions, back stuff, etc.

They are great... true. But limiting because of structural/design issues yes.

I would not use T.O.'s 'superman' bands through Bodylastics, or that style of bands. Those are limiting. They are too long to include with typical exercise equipment and you are 'simulating' actual gym exercises when you use them. -- Some day people are going to want to use actual gym equipment.

Jump stretch style bands are better... mine are the best... they combine both styles and can do what each of the other two can in one band system.

I use them as my core training with every exercise and muscle group. I know that 'functionaltrain' does not advocate that. I can tell you from my experience that I will never train without them.... except a week off here and there. My bench is higher than ever, my pull ups are higher than ever, and I'm putting on better size... plus I'm doing hard cardio every week. What does that tell you?... they work for power AND muscular endurance, as well as size/definition.

They work. Second.. I just demo'd my band system at a powerlifting gym yesterday... the gym liked it so much they took my only set, my prototype, and wanted to use if with their clients for everyday gym goers... bands work and are a must!!

What makes my bands different is the design. I have shortened the actual band to 15". I have included clips at each end. I have then used two straps with "D" rings at each end. Each end of each band attaches to each strap.

You can then wrap the straps around any piece of exercise equipment, the frame and/or handle. Then as you exercise, tri pull downs, curls, lat pull downs, seated cable rows, WHATEVER exercise... you are getting the benefit of band training while doing all machine - free weights and workout stations.

Now thinking along the lines of T.O.'s band system, or that style that trainers use with the two handles... the two straps, when both D rings are connected to the band, actually form the handles. Now you can do anything those bands can do.

As you wrote your reply I was on the phone... talking about a contract issue. I will be placing my first order soon, hopefully.

Where to get them.. when my order is placed... will be through me:
My website is not done, but reserved: . It is under construction.

Hi All,

Just found this forum. tcajim, I've been looking into resistance band training and your system sounds very intriguing. Any idea when we might get to see/buy it? I'd like to get something sooner rather than later but I can be patient.

Also, anyone have any thoughts on the TRX Trainer? I know it's not a resistance band system but it's close and looks really good.

Thanks all:)

are your bands in a loop so you can put it on one side of a BB, drag it under for example a bench, put it on the other end and then do bench press with added resistance from the band?

I also don't quite get your argument in that they are limiting.. because they can tear if they come in contact with sharp edges? Bands are a great tool for adding resistance to for example the bench press, specially since it loads up the eccentric a bit more than using just weight.
