Well, I thought it may be a good idea to have a journal where I can record what I did for that day and discuss it with others.
My goal for this year is to get into really good shape. I'm not overly concerned about fat because I know it will come off with exercise and a good diet.
I'm 6'1" and 260 pounds right now. It's really hard to say that in public but it's the way it is. I put all my weight on my spare tire, mostly my stomach, and a bit on my thighs. Because I'm tall, the fat seems to kind of "stretch" and I don't seem like I weigh that much, but I do. I gained 10 pounds over the Christmas holidays, even though I was actually trying not to gain any weight. Ugh.
I'll post my before picture when I get to a certain point. It's embarrassing to say the least.
I seem to crave carbohydrates, but I thrive on a high protein and vegetable carb diet, so the more bread/pasta/grain carbs I eat, the more my weight loss is slowed up, halted, or the more I gain! I really just cannot eat a lot of grain carbohydrates, except maybe a small serving in the morning or something.
My problem is staying focused on my diet. I do like exercise but not right now because it hurts the skin on my stomach, but I love running when my stomach is not as big as it is right now, so I'd like to take that up when I slim down.
Some things I want to do in life will require me to be in good shape. I feel restless and lethargic and nonmotivated right now because I feel like I have such a long way to go, but I just have to do it. I'm 20 now. Although I'm not really interested in dating right now, I know that the sort of guy I need is one who is really active so I'd like to have that in common with him. The thing is I WANT to be active, but... I don't know what's holding me back? Fear of pain? Who knows.
Daily Small Goals I'll update these in other posts.
(x) Cut out bread and granola bars! I loooove granola bars so this will be a hard one.
(x) Work out at 2 muscle groups with weights at least 4 times a week.
(x) Drink at least 4 refills of my water bottle daily.
Long Term Goals
(x) Run a 5k in 45 minutes.
(x) Bicep curl 30 pounds dumbbell (would be my record over 25lbs)
(x) Be 185 lbs.
. . . . .
Thank you for reading!! I'll try and update this as much as once per week.
