Hello Im so unhappy about how much I weigh.
I am 20 stone or 286 pounds.

I really need some help to loose some weight. I always get bullied for it, I want to loose this weight seriously

If someone can help me I would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Hi, Nathaniel & welcome to the forum. You have made a start by both seeking help & starting a journal. Are you able to see a doctor and possibly get help with nutrition? It is very important that you lose weight sensibly & in a healthy way. You do not want to slow down your metabolism by going on a crash diet and you need to learn about sound nutrition. Google "healthy eating" & maybe add heart foundation. The Australian Heart Foundation has great tips on healthy eating.
I don't know what your daily "diet" would normally consist of but it would help us if you could tell us more. Is the rest of your family overweight? What do you eat at home? Just a bit more background will help us to try to help you.
You are certainly not alone & you will get support here. It is a friendly, non-judgemental place & we will do what we can. I would make an appointment with your local doctor for a check-up & ask him/her for support & advice as well. I look forward to seeing you become fit and healthy. You have made a start & that is always good. Cheers, Cate.

Hello Nathaniel and welcome to the forum! I second Cate's suggestions and would like to add the good thing about you starting to take your health seriously at your age is that in many areas there are special programs to support you and teach you all you need to know. Starting with your gp (or school doc if you have one) would probably be easiest because they tend to know their way around.
Best of luck and be sure to stick around :) LaMa.

Most of my family are overweight, Not over 320 pounds I would say, I often eat good at home, I think I have too many portions, and I have too many snacks. I used to get builled at school, Not so much any more. I have a few close freinds at school who said that they would help me through doing it, I start for summer this Thursday, and I want to loose some weight before I go back to school. I have been in hospital recently because they think I have something like IBS or something like that. Because I have been ill alot of time off school through it. I start to feel incredably sick and they dont think its IBS, So the only thing is that its something in my diet, Also When I am angry I often do eat. My parents are split but Im fine with all of that. Thanks for your support I live in England as well if that helps you anymore :)

I think you should be able to get help with a nutritional plan via your health care system Nathaniel. I'm glad you have some support at school. Seeing a counsellor would also be a good idea, but starting with a general practitioner would be a good idea. In the meantime, walking would be a good start. You can slowly build that up. Include fresh fruit & veg, lean protein, whole grains & more water in your diet, & you should start to lose weight. Becoming fit & healthy is a priority & is best achieved by being sensible. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen if you persevere. It is well worth it. Cheers, Cate.

Hey :) I am pretty new so I'm not sure if I can offer much specific advice right away but keeping a diary of what I eat during the day each day and sharing it has been great for me. It really helps to be aware of what you're eating!

Your weight will fluctuate day to day a lot just because of water and food weight and such so it's best to follow longer trends but it's great you've already seen a loss :)

Everyone here is really friendly and knowledgeable too and everyone supports each other :) Good luck with everything.

Just being mindful of what you eat will make a difference. Well done on the 2lbs lost. You have made a start. GO YOU!!!

That´s usually a great all-round suggestion. If you´re still having snacks between meals maybe have a banana instead of your usual snack right around the time you´d be likely to be getting cramps; they can be helpful. Also: if you´ve started to be more active maybe your muscles are tired or you need to stretch a bit.
