Really confused about... everything

Okay so I've never really done designated workouts before, but I'm thinking about joining the military and it's about damn time I start working out anyways so lately I've been trying to figure out how to go about this. All I want is a full-body workout using only two 11lb dumbbells, which is all I have. Everywhere I go online is just a collection of different workouts for different muscle groups and I never have any idea what to make of any of it or how to set up a workout. Training programs set out by military sites are usually way too intense for what I can do right now. I mean, it's hard enough to get yourself to start working out all of a sudden, but adding that to having no idea where the hell to start or what the hell to do makes me worried that I'm just going to forget about working out by the end of the week and never remember to do it again. So yeah... if anyone can give me a little help on basically what I should do every day for a full-body workout that would be amazing. Is it normal to be this confused about how to start working out?

edit- I might be able to convince my parents to get me a gym membership... would someone there (it would be a Lifetime) be able to help me set up how to get a full-body workout routine and how to train my muscles for the best balance of strength and endurance?

Smart move getting a jump on things before you join the military.

It's difficult to give out a "one size fits all" workout without knowing a little bit more about you.

Have you ever played sports? Which ones? Do you have any prior or existing injuries? What is your current fitness level? How many push ups can you do? How old are you?

How much time before you go to boot camp? Can you run 1,5 miles? If so, how fast?

These are just a few things we need to know in order to better advise you....

Good luck!

Mike

Sorry for being so vague, I was just really frustrated when I wrote that. I'm 16, so I have 2-3 years (maybe 4) to get into a physical condition that I see appropriate. I've never run 1.5 miles, but my mile time has recently been around 8 minutes I think. I can do 30 pushups to failure, maybe a bit more. When I was younger I played hockey and a little baseball, then in Junior High I did some track for a year. Most of my time has really been spent in front of this screen. I wouldn't say that I'm fat at all, kind of skinny I guess. I've never tried to watch my diet but I'm starting that now.

Thanks!

This will get you started although the 11 lb dumbbells may be a little light they are better than nothing. Do a circuit in this order with no rest between exercises: pushups, pullups, dumbbell overhead press, arm curls, tricept push backs & sit ups. Do as many reps as you can, rest 1 to 2 minutes and do again. After 3 sets go out and jog working up to at least 3 miles. This should get you in reasonably good shape.
