Realistic weight loss

I am 5'6/5'7, 160 ...how much weight should I REASONABLY expect to lose in a month assuming I do about 45 minutes of cardio a day and eat around 1200-1500 calories a day? I was thinking probably 5 pounds a month, but was hoping for more...any thoughts?

what made you pick that calorie range?

Every body is different and responds to weight loss differently - why get hung up on a number? Realistically 1 percent of your body weight a week is a good goal to shoot for but not everyone can or does hit that...

Spend some time reading th stickied threads around the forum - especially the thread entitled the scale mentality

I picked that range because I am not particularly active but I KNOW I can't/won't eat less than 1200 calories a day...at least not long term...1200 isn't very many and doesn't go very far!

I suppose I am not THAT concerned with the scale, but I do think within a 5 pound range is accurate in terms of how I look...

five pounds a month is fairly reasonable - works out at just over 1lb per week and that is a sensible rate to lose weight. If you are working out every day and eating healthily, then this is a realistic target i think.

Good luck!!!
