Hi everyone....I have been reading this forum for a few days now, just trying to get motivated to lose some weight. I think motivation to keep it going for the long haul is going to be the key....this seemed like a good place to start.

I have about 30-35 pounds I'd like to lose, but mainly want to tone up and feel strong within myself again. Self esteem definitely takes a hit with weight gain! I am 36, and have ever so slowly been creeping up in weight on the scale since college days. I started a journal which I hope will help...plan to record meals, calories, and exercise... I am just plain tired of "feeling fat" all the time, and know I need support for this to work....So here I am!

You've got the right idea starting a journal. Having a diary on the forums has really helped me. Everyone is so supportive!

Keep a positive attitude and work hard and I'm sure you'll see those pounds dropping off.

This is an excellent place to start. Get involved with the community and keep track of your goals (best on paper) and things will definitely improve. Kudos for you for making the start.
