In November of 2009, I weighed in at over 220 pounds. After seeing a picture of myself in my best friend's wedding, I knew I didn't want to live like that anymore. I was always depressed and felt horrible about myself because I was destroying my body day by day.

I decided that I wasn't going to treat my body poorly anymore. I started doing cardio at least 3 times a week for at least an hour. I immediately fell in love. As far as changes in my diet, I made sure to keep a food journal so I would know exactly where my downfalls were. I cut out cheese and butter, avoided trans fats like the plague, and was careful with my bread intake. I made sure to eat breakfast and to eat enough calories to sustain my body and ensure no muscle loss. It took a couple of weeks for me to get into the groove, but once I stuck to it the weight literally started falling off. I was down to 150, my original goal weight, by November 2010.

After a series of unfortunate events (my 21st birthday haha) , I started slacking and not going to the gym. Over the course of another year, I managed to pack back on almost 20 pounds. I got comfortable with the way that I looked and I lost sight of my purpose of living this new healthy lifestyle. I started slipping back into that depression and I knew the one thing that would help me turn it around.

Since November, I have been doing my best to do an hour of cardio 3 times a week and 2 days of weight training/calisthenics. I have formed a slight obsession with the boot camp class at 24 hour (Kurt, you're crazy in the best way possible, and I have learned so much from you), and when school doesn't get in my way, I'm there. I have successfully re-lost about 20 pounds and I am currently at my lowest weight :)

I want to always keep working harder and pressing forward, never stopping and never looking back. I don't ever want to go back to where I was. I must constantly remind myself that this journey really doesn't have a destination. I'm a work in progress and am excited to see my body and my life continue to change.
