I'm new to the site and rather new to the world of weight loss.
Brief intro: I was born and raised in Southern California, worked in LA for 3 years as a Graphic Designer for the Fashion Design industry. I'm technically a trained fashion designer and costume designer. When my last freelance job came to a close, the b/f suggested we make our way to NY. We finally landed in MA where he has family. We're 3.5 hours away from where my industry is and it's driving me crazy. I want work! I spend most of my free time hunting for work, brushing up on the Adobe programs, drawing, sketching, designing, reading and writing. I adore sewing and am perfectly happy cooking up a great meal for friends and family. I'm involved with a wonderful, supportive man and we have 2 insane lap cats.
Weight/Body Image Issues: I'm 25, 5 foot 6 inches, a very small German frame and I weigh in at 145. My goal is to get back down to 120 pounds. The boy describes me as being all limb, breasts and butt, which is a perfect way of summing up my build. Gaining weight is a new struggle with me. Currently I'm about a size 12, thanks to this booty of mine. My waist is a size medium, the girls come in at a size large or xl depending on the brand, my rear end brings me in at about a size large. And I thought shopping was hard when I was slender.
I've had image issues my entire life. For about a good 10 years I was struggling with anorexia. When I met my current man, he began trying to help me get over that ed. I still have issues, but my current goal is to learn how to eat healthy and keep active to obtain a slender, toned figure, instead of my old fall back of starving myself and obsessively working out. The focus is on health this time, not obtaining some mythological number that would continue to get lower and lower the closer I got to it.
I track my calories by using a food diary, I work out 5 days a week (3 days of cardio, 2 days of strength training and usually 5 days of yoga for stress management) and when we do have money, we stick to a raw diet. Currently, that isn't the case. We're on the broke diet. I have a very sensitive system that tends to force me on a pretty limited diet. I'm forced to be extra creative when we can't afford quality foods. Old fall backs like hamburger helper, fast food and ramen are out of the question for me.
Currently, my calorie intake tends to average at about 600-700 daily, and I'm burning close to 2600. I know, that's far too low but I think this may be linked to my past. I can't for the life of me figure out how to increase the calorie intake. Even when I'm on my raw diet, I've found I'm full so quickly that I simply can't eat much. I tend to eat like a bird.
The raw diet involves mostly raw veggies and fruits, a small selection of nuts and seeds, and fish (sushi!). IF red meat is consumed, its lean. Currently, I'm on what I like to call the Irish diet.
Baked potatoes. Pasta. Cheese for protein. LOTS of water and tea. It's not healthy but I am from Irish stock and I do love me my potatoes. Once we can start eating healthy again I'm going to go through a 10 day detox to clean out my system.
So, that's my story! Hopefully I can learn a lot here and gain motivation to keep up the routine. I'm a bit clueless in this area.
