Quit eating "pig and cow food" and you'll lose weight fast...

I was raised on a farm in Iowa (no that's not my picture below). On our farm and in every farm worldwide, farmers will feed cattle and pigs grain and grain byproducts to fatten their livestock up quickly to get them to market fast and cheap.

I have a simple rule for quick weight loss....

Quit eating "pig and cow food", yes I know this sounds a bit harsh - but sometime the truth hurts.

Everyone is told you need to eat some carbs (for energy) and fiber (for a healthy digestive tract). OK, true BUT don't turn to breads, grains, pasta, rice, and corn to get them.

Get your carbs and fiber from fruits and veggies - raw - fresh ones. Don't eat corn and potatoes - bad veggies. If you can't cut the bread out completely, that's fine but LIMIT it a bunch. Load up on fresh fruit, veggies and lean meat/poultry/fish - and you'll never feel hungry and still lose excess fat.

This is a simple - common sense approach to weight loss eating.

Sincerely,

Works for some, not for others. The base idea makes sense, but it is far too generalised to work for everybody. In all actual fact, there is nothing that works for everybody, and blanket statements like the above tend not to be overly helpful.

I agree that we should be eating less corn and wheat. Our stomachs are different than animals, so I don't agree 100% with the comparison, but I agree with the end result. Unfortunately, the North American market is driven largely by agriculture, so we have been brainwashed to have wheat and corn in all our foods, saying that it's healthy. The food pyramid that we learned in school is a butch of BS that is put together by the Agriculture Industry of America, not by any nutritional expert (another reason our school has failed us, but that's another rant).

It may be a blanket statement, but if you spend time dissecting it and comparing it to your own diet, it can make a big difference. Processed foods (ie. flour), is nothing but sugar to our body ... and what happens to sugar that isn't burned? FAT. Of course, the switch off of bread at every meal can seem impossible. Thankfully, I have a gluten allergy and the switch became necessary ... I only lost about 10lbs in the couple years (don't really have much to lose), but my overall fitness has gone through the roof.
