Quick Weight Loss/Gain (Bipolar + ADHD)

Hi everyone!

I have a question about weight loss that kinda involves two medical conditions... Let me tell you the story.

I'm a 22 year old male. I'm 5'8" and I currently weight 200lbs.

When I was 12, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 1. I took meds until the age of 17. Bipolar meds caused me to gain a significant amount of weight - I got up to 230lbs. After I stopped taking them, I got to 215lbs and then with a little bit of exercise and eating better, I'm now down to 200lbs.

Okay, but here's the thing. I recently got diagnosed with ADHD and now have been given Adderall 5mg x1 day. I've been using it for a few days now and it's really taking away my hunger. I know that's really bad because in the morning I only usually drink a protein shake because of time and for the rest of the day, I'm not hungry whatsoever.

I'm trying to force myself to eat at least dinner, even though I'm not hungry but I know that only having 200 calories a day and a bunch of water is really bad for you.

So... what I want to know is, how do I avoid getting the loose skin or how can I at least minimize it? I already have a ton of stretch marks because of... I don't know if it's the previous weight gain or loss but I have them. It already looks horrible and I know it's going to be a part of my life I'm always going to see in the mirror but I want to at least minimize the loose skin, if possible.

My problem area is my stomach and chest. I have like a round-ish stomach and moobs :(

Any tips and advice would be truly appreciated!

My opinion, and I'm by no means a doctor, but go off the meds for ADHD and use that energy for exercise.

As for your target areas, you can not spot reduce. You need to exercise cardio and weight training to get your whole body fit and your moobs and stomach will get fit with the rest of you. If you lose the weight and build muscle, your stretch marks will be much less visible and you will work off a lot of that lose skin. It doesn't sound like you were big enough to really have a huge problem with extra skin

Whatever it either weight gain or loss it should be in natural way only other wise you may face problems in future.

There's really not much that you can do about loose skin. Sorry :( It's going to depend on how overweight you were, how long, your age and genetics.

The things you can do is try to lose weight slowly, get a lot of nutrients and vitamins, healthy fats, omega 3, water, etc. There's no way to know if this 'will' help. It 'may' help in some cases, but we can't really know.

Supposedly using things like olive oil on your skin may help, but we don't really know and I can't say it for a fact either. If you can afford it, it couldn't hurt, though.
