Quick question

I've had this situation happen to me several times. Lets say I'm doing some exercise. Bench, squat, whatever. I do three sets of 10 reps. Now by the end of this exercise, I'm pretty tired but I know I could do more. I can't quite do the full 10 reps at the same weight but I could lower the weight a little and get the full ten.
Should I keep the weight the same and only do six or seven reps?
I usually try for muscle failure.

If this has already been discussed in a previous post, can somone just link me to that post in a reply.

The reps depend on your goals. 8-12 is generally for size, and lower reps is for strength.

If you are doing 10 reps, on even a few reps under that, it probably isn't muscle failure, at any rate, it isn't good for your body to go to true muscle failure often as you are tearing down muscle and putting a good amount of stress on your body.
