quick question on apple's and others

Spockafina and Neenaw...

Holy schnickies... Simma-down now.

I have read posts from both of yaz and find you informed, intelligent, and funny... Both of you! Obviously there is a lot of different opinions out there (and even controversial ones). Most of us only state erudite knowledge here, since we aren't scientists. So, please be a bit lenient on each other.

Dear God... if you guys called me out on half of my BS I wouldn't even know what book or magazine article to quote. The key to this stuff working, (because we are all individuals) is trial and error on our own part.

Bury the hatchet kids.

And, as far as the subject is concerned, I have been eating carbs and protein together for a long time. Normally I do this immediately after my workout. Protein helps the carbs to convert glucose into glycogen which is depleted from your body during a HARD workout!

I don't know about some of the others around here, but I am not basing this part on reading... I am basing it on my personal results... Mixing them has been a boon for me.

Not at all, and I don't appreciate you writing such a harsh post. I have done my research, and I know what works best for me and my goals. I have nothing further to say.

yeah, just like you didn't "appreciate" the information I gave. i just didn't think that was a very nice comment to make when all i was doing was offering a different viewpoint based on different studies. perhaps you should be a little more welcoming to ideas that are different from your own? i have done plenty of research too but never close my mind to new ideas.

personally, i don't always stick by those food combining rules... in fact, the protein/carbs rule i find extremely difficult and therefore seldom use it, tho I've noticed that when I do, digestion seems to go more smoothly. like if i had tuna with a salad, i wouldn't be full of wind like i am sometimes when i have a tuna sandwich. with the fruit one, i do always try to eat fruit on its own and have found it to "go down better". when i eat fruit after a meal i feel it's just kinda stuck inside me and it leads to wind and indigestion. when i eat it on its own, this doesn't happen. so for me, the fruit rule works. as for helping to lose weight, I have no idea how accurate that is - there are studies that show both sides of the coin (as with most things) but if it eases indigestion, which it does in my own personal experience then that's a good enough reason for me to keep the "food combining rules" in my head.
