Quick & Healthy Breakfast Sandwich

Hey - If you are from New Jersey you probably have had a Taylor Ham, Egg & Cheese sandwich. I'm sure you know how ridiculously horrible they are for you. Well, here is a great, healthy alternative:

1 Thomas's W/W English Muffin
2 Egg Whites
1-2 slices of Canadian bacon
1 slice Reduced fat swiss or FF Kraft shredded Cheddar

Toast the muffin
Cook up the eggs and canadian bacon. When the eggs look cooked slap the bacon on top, then melt the cheese on top of that.

Put the entire thing on the toasted muffin. As a topping I usually do a ring of ketchup on the top and put a couple of dabs of hot sauce in the middle. It's a great quick thing in the morning - Let me know what you think :)

interesting...i'd change the bacon to turkey bacon or chicken bacon though

Actually the Canadian Bacon isn't that bad. 2 slices (less than 1 serving) of Ocsar Meyer Canadian Bacon is:

40 Cal
10 Cal Fat (.66g Sat)
6g Protein

1 serving size is 3 slices at 60 Cal / 15 Fat Cal / 9 g Protein. I don't eat regular bacon because of the high Sat. Fat content

Are you sure this should be classed as 'healthy' or more of a 'treat that isn't terrible'??

And I mean in terms of nutrition when I say "That isnt terrible" compared to other 'treats' you could give yourself. Does sound delicious though even though I am not sure what FF Kraft Shredded Cheddar would be here in the UK. We do have cheese made by a company called Kraft...

That breakfast sounds really good. Right now I'm eating four egg whites and two yolks, scrambled with one half cup cooked oatmeal. It's getting really boring, but I need the protein for the weight training. Can you suggest any other tasty high protein breakfasts?

grrrr this got me in a taste of one my former partners in crime...
a fried salami, bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich, but ill stay strong :)

cmcclung, you can try dressing your oatmeal with blueberries, vanilla whey, and crushed walnuts

mmmmmmmmmmmm mc muffin :D

I sometimes toast some wholemeal and dice up some bacon into an omlette chuck it on the bread and then pour a can of spaghetti over top. YUM YUM
