Quick firing line question...Advice or Help would be Appreciated alot!

quick question, diet is important yep..
but if im eating prunes and dates more than vegetables, does that mean i wont loose any fat due to them being high in carbs and natural sugars?

i workout after meals on my abs a lot more than anything else but theres no sign of improvement, i do feel them burning, but its rarely showing, it might be due to me having less muscle on my body im not sure.

my diet or what i tend to eat.(including fluids)

6am 2-3 coffees in the morning to get me up and going.
7am 30 minute workout. ( stretching, working abs, pushups)
8am go to work
11am snack ( banana/apple/raisins)
3pm finish work
quick apple on the way home ( i walk to work and back)
4.15pm dinner ( broccoli, cauliflowers, cabbage, aubigene and either a can of tuna or 2 fillets of COD)
6-7pm another workout till i sweat and burn.
8pm snacking on a bag of prunes and dates.
8.30pm 1-2LTR of ice cold water to hydrate.
9pm...bed.

thats basically my daily routine from monday to sunday.
im a bit worried as ive kept a personal planner and i have been doing this for the past 2-3 months and havnt really seen a change much in my bodys development
im 21 years of age and 5 ft 11 inchs tall, i weigh 138 pounds and love to keep active.

i will post pictures soon, any advice or critisizum would be appreciated loads.

Id skip the coffee and consume oatmeal and oj.
Just add up your calories and see where it lands you.
As far as your abs go whats your workout?

^ Just post your full workout.

Are you trying to get huge or more defined?

thanks for replying, appreciate it.
not huge...just lean! i'll post up some pictures soon as possible!, i have one but im pretty ashamed of it due to me being skinny.

i normally wear 2 hoodys so i can sweat and start off with stretching my muscles before working out.
i normally do reps of 50-100 crunchs first.
then
50 jacknives.
50 twist ups.
25 push throughs.
25 90 degree ankle reach.
50 left crossover crunch.
50 right crossover crunch.
50 head raises
100 side bends
then repeat again from 100 crunchs.

so its like 700-900 depending if i have the erge to do 100-200 more.
this is in the morning then i do this a hour or so after my dinner in the evening.

this was last year on holiday, caught in bad rain in florida and had ALOT of people staring at me so i knew i had to do something about the way i looked.
i am ashamed of how i was so skinny...but it drove me to look leaner and healthier.

I think you need to see a psychiatrist. You are anorexic.

seriously, i dont mind critisizum, but....common dude im 9-10 stone now and im much healthier...did you not see the other picture i posted.
i did ask for advice aswell, yet you just pick a fault and tell me. thanks! this forum is great help...

i also posted two pictures of me to COMPARE and give me ADVICE, try not to be too harsh though, you are speaking to another human being and not a computer.

First I need to say that I am not trying to be critical, I am truely trying to be helpful.

There is a lot with your opening post now that I read it again that kind of scares me.

Please stop wearing the hoodies while you workout. The extra sweating will not help you in your goals, and may actually cause you to die. Yes, death. I know that's extream but you're drinking nothing but coffee which dehydrates, and then doing this which also dehydrates, you can get really sick. With how skinny you are you don't need the extra exersion, and no one should be trying to make themselves sweat extra unless maybe they're trying to meet a weigh-in goal for a fight or athletic event. It wont help in your goals and will only dehydrate you. It's a very common misconception though, so I understand.

i drink water in the day with a banana and apple aswell!

Do you have a picture of what you would like your ideal body to look like? Maybe a celebrity or model or some such?

You're overworking your abs, you need a more solid full body workout. You can't spot-reduce fat and working your abs extra isn't going to do much besides make your abs hurt.

ahhh i didnt want to loose weight, if i came across like that i didnt mean it to lose weight haha, i mean i want to maybe gain a few pounds yet have my abs showing and get peks!

Again, eat more. With how thin you are, you might not want to just suddenly start eating a ton. It can be bad on your heart. Gradually introduce more calories into your day.

with that said above, i go through a fair amount!
i eat a big bowl of dried fruit which is high in calories a night before bed! normally with some yogurt on the top.

There's a lot more to say, but I really hope you come back some more. Talk out exactly what a healthy goal is for you, and then we can help you on your way.

yeah man, as i said ill upload a picture real soon so you can see how much my body has grown and how healthy i look, seriously that picture compared to me now i look nothing like haha.
i do appreciate your concern though!

90% of it is mental. We have to define realistic goals and time frames, and then start accepting things that will get us there. That might mean some uncomfortable truths for some people.

ahhhh ok, nah im not anorexic or mental as i do eat ALOT of fish as in 2-3 fillets of cod with my meal (vegetables), and i do drink a glass of milk before bed, i want my body to get leaner as in look and feel good about myself you'no...also the picture was from last year, so ive gained alot of muscle mass compared to now!

There's really no way to compair the pics, sorry. They're just too different from each other (angle wise) to really be able to tell anything.

You say you want to be leaner, I'm curious if you misspoke there. Because if your goal really is to lose fat, there is something not healthy about your body image. You are overly skinny. Even in the second picture.

You need to eat more, for real. You barely eat any real food.

Do you have health insurance? If you do, you really need to see a nutritionist. You're setting yourself up to be really sick later in life.

i meant be leaner as in muscle, not loosing weight!!!
i re -read it and i guess you could of read it wrong, so my bad.
i do eat real food aswell, lots of fish, beans, i drink loads of milk as in... a good glass 30 mins before bed!

See, now I'm REALLY glad I asked. You have mis-defined the term "lean" in your own mind. To be more lean means you want to lose fat, not gain muscle. This is not your actual goal, and I'm glad! Do you see now why you have gotten some weird responses?

So now that we've established your goal is to gain muscle and then get that "lean" look, we can really go from here.

I'm glad you're not afraid of food, but you are still not really eating very much. It may be more than you used to, but it's not a lot. Try in the morning when you have your coffee to have a little oatmeal. You need healthy complex carbs to grow muscle. Introduce more food into your system slowly.

Do you have access to a gym or weights?
thanks for replying so quick!
few! hahaha i thought i gotten something wrong, my self esteem got a kick in the nuts when some of the responses above!!!
i love trying new fooods! :D i was pretty scared i got called anorexic when you should see me now!

i got new pictures aswell so you can see how im progressing :) im pretty happy with it at the moment

not really, i do have this ab workout machine in my room but thats a load of whack! hahaha, i do press ups now and then but still, id rather work on my abdominals and lower area!, yeah you can't see my ribs anymore and i look healthier :D

also, i have been eating loads of protein rich foods, such as tuna, cod steaks, beans (kidney beans) and some seeds like pumpkin seeds, yeah i want my abdominals too show alot more than they are now. im at the stage were its not quite there i guess.

just about to upload two closer shots to show my progress more.
these are the last two, before i keep on with my progression of my abdominals and will update either weekly or monthly.
(sorry for the overload of comments and images)

and one more.

I'm glad Derwyddon clarified that you want to be more muscular - not skinnier! You're now 10 stones (140#) at 5'11"? That's a start, but you should still be lean at 150. That should be your next target. Good luck.

yeah man! its in the healthy BMI but at the lower end, i cant really eat flour enriched foods due to it always giving me constipation, i know thats not a good thing to hear, yeah i want a better looking body so i can feel good about myself!

also, if im drinking 3-4 cups of coffee in the day is that ok?

You'll hear different opinions on coffee, but I don't think it's an issue. I drink more coffee than that as do a lot of my triathlon buddies.

Good Luck Friend. I see you are committed to molding your body into what you desire and I applaud you. If you need any help please message me or post a thread on this forum.
