I am eating about 1400-1500 calories a day and I'm trying to be active everyday if not every day then at least 3 times a week.

Is my calorie intake too low? I read it somewhere and I'm just wondering? Any suggestions?

Hi there,
How much do you currently weigh? And what is your age?

Sorry to be personal but those two factors make a difference:)

... and your current stats would be?

Height/Weight/Age/Gender and approximately how long you've been eating at caloric deficit...

as well as how you're defining being 'active"

Im 5'8 I currently weigh 268lbs I'm a female and im 21.
I've been bicycling for the past two days, hour each day, felt like i burnt quit a lot of cals and if i don't go biking tomorrow I will have a job on my treadmill so Im going to try to do my treadmill or go bike at least every other day.

As of now Im taking in about 1400-1500 calories daily.

yep. you are too low. If you are active 3 times a week (and you should be) Your maintenance is 2700-2800. I'd drop down to about 2200 go through a cycle and see how you do. If you do well, stay there till you don't. The trickier part is being accurate. To be sure you will have to strictly measure and account for EVERYTHING you eat.

I agree with edco, you are too low on your calories, but I think it is possible for you to utilize a range of 1800-2000 calories daily to satisfy your nutritional needs while losing body fat. The key is to select a strategic amount of certain foods and this will work for you.

I suggest using Fit Day, which is an food journal to track your foods and set a goal percentage of 45% carbs, 35% protein and 20% carbs to start off. Follow this for four weeks than alter the percentages a bit to continue to see progress (more protein less carbs- about 40% each).

wow thanks guys I didnt know that it was THAT low.

WOW no wonder im like starving half the time.

K i will def start to note down ever calorie eaten.

THANKS :D
