Question

Some studies have shown there is the possibility of liver damage, but that's in very extreme excess. Consuming 1 gram per lb of bodyweight is perfectly healthy.

The only things that I have read, spoke about possible damage to the kidneys not the liver, BUT it is "countered" with an adequte amount of water. One study I read some time ago said that the conclusion was that if a person had some issues with their kidneys, in other words, had a susceptibility to kidney issues, then a high protein intake may hurt them.

That's what I've read, too - that if you have kidney problems already, then the large amounts of protein will exacerbate them.

Depends on what type of protein. If you're worried that your eating too much meat - that can have some additional problems, some having to do with your breath, digestion, bm's etc.

I have trouble taking in that much protien and I am drinking some heavy protien shakes each day. What are you eating that has that much protien in it to get the the critical levels? :-D

Thanks people for the reply. I am eating healthy, also no need to lose anymore fat, I just asked for my general info.
Thanks again.
