Question for all the ladies out there.

Hey girls,
I've been on my weight loss journey for about 4 and a half months now - I've lost over 30 pounds through a controlled diet and daily exercise. However I thought that the more weight I lost I would also lose boob as well. I used to weigh around 160 and now I weigh 125.. When I was a 160 I wore a 36DD and now that I'm 125 I wear a 34DD so I really haven't lost much if any breast. The problem is, my breasts hurt REALLY bad for me to work out - it has been this entire time. I have tried really really tight sports bras - I even try it where I wear a really tight sports bra, and a tank top with a built in bra overtop - but nothing is effective and I'm wondering if I'm the only one this happens too...I tried google'ing it and go no response. I'm just frustrated because anytime I do running or jumping I have to hold my boobs in place ( which isn't too appropriate at the gym ) or I'm in alot of pain..Any suggestions?

It sounds like regardless of your weight you were destined to have larger breasts. The problem with that is you did to get to keep the size but now your back cannot support the weight. When you weighed more, there was a bigger stress on your body as a whole, but now that you are losing it the weight is being localized to your breasts and back since thats the largest pull at the moment.

Honestly, you might want to look into a breast reduction.

I wear a racerback bra with a sports bra... that usually helps.. I mean as long as they're not bouncing around too much they're ok (for me at least)... but I only have Cs... soooo, I dunno if my advice would be worth anything to you. :(

I don't have one in particular to recommend, but they've done actually studies and rather than getting a super tight bra, you're better getting a 'capsule' sports bra. Where it's got a pocket for each breast to hold them in place.

Here's a link with more info:

I find it strage you have such a hard time, I am a 38DD and do not have this problem, what I do is wear my normal full coverage bra and wear a sports bra over it, it keeps them in place and I never have a problem :)

I'd say 4 months is a fast weight loss and its likely your weight has come from a few key areas rather then evenly from all over (you may have lost inches in some areas and cm in other areas). I would wait it out as you could find your weight redistributes and you lose weight from your bust but it may take time, like a few months. If its a problem that really gets in your way alot you could go down the breast reduction route but I'd not advise that myself as it will scar and you look young.

Maybe look at non impact forms of exercise, things like cycling, the elliptical machine, the rower, yoga or aqua aerobics... things like running or step aerobics would be more painful for example.

I wear a 40DDD. I use to wear a sports bra over a regular bra and even then I couldn't jog at the gym with out feeling silly until I bought this thing. It is pricey, but when I think about all the money I wasted on bras, it was so worth it.

I lost 20 pounds in 4 months and went from a 36DD to a 36D so not much of a change for me either! I always just wear a bra underneath my sports bra. I cannot workout without a bra on underneath! I think that's really your only solution... working out with just a sportsbra will not keep them in place.

You girls are lucky. I guess the grass is always greener. Pain isn't cool, but I'd like to be able to wear strapless dresses : ( I was a full C and now I am a B. By the time I am done with my weightloss I will most likely be an A. Sigh.

I wouldn't call it lucky! Between the back pain and the heat rashes, they aren't exactly fun. I have to buy really expensive bras just to be semi-comfortable and that still doesn't work half the time. Plus, there are a LOT of clothes I can't wear because mine are too big and I wind up looking like a fat hooker. I don't really like looking slutty (I'm not saying you do!!!) so I have to dress for my breasts almost more than my weight. It's a huge pain. Mine were DDD when I started and I'm hoping beyond all hope that they go down to a C or so when I've lost all this weight.

Plus, people (men and women) feel like they have a right to comment on my breasts and how big they are. I've been asked if they are real and if stores "even sell your size?!?", it's hurtful.

That's why I said the grass is always greener. I don't have cleavage..the whole pulling them up is not an option. I know a lot of my dancer friends that have been compared to little boys even as adult women...No matter the size some people are just going to be rude. Also when I was a 46 C I had a woman an jcpenney tell me to "go to one of those plus size stores because they didn't have anything for me here"

Sorry to necro an old thread, but I thought this would be the best place to share. I finally found a good sports bra! , to be specific. It's great! It's soft and comfortable, yet holds them in place. No bounce at all!

I actually went into a Scheels and was looking at what they had. I had tried a few on with no luck (did the "bounce" test and holy crap did they bounce). Or, they would pass that, but be so tight that they dug into my skin and I could hardly get them on or off.

I was getting grumpy when a sales woman found me. I told her the issue, adding that since I'm larger, I need one with great support. She said she had just the thing and grabbed this one. According to her, they also hold up well. She's had hers for a few years and it hasn't stretched out at all.

Anyway, I tried it on and was surprised at how comfortable it is. Then did the bounce test and they didn't move at all. Bought it on the spot. Since then I've run with it on and did Jillian's 30 Day Shred (heavy on jumping jacks and similar) and had no issue at all. It is $44.00 but worth it! Especially if you are larger like me.

It does tend to give you the uni-boob look, but most sports bras do.

Is it good w/o a regular bra underneath? I wear a bra and a sports bra because my ladies are a 38DD, and now that I am losing weight my bra is rubbing and cutting me. I need a sports bra that is good as both for the gym :)
