Question about "water weight" from creatine

I have come to the understanding that creatine gives you "water weight" in your muscles and makes you gain weight because of it. I'm looking for a bigger add, a bigger boost in the gym, along with some weight. I'm thinkin about pickin up creatine along with the protein I already take. I've been doing some research in the past couple weeks, and I have a few questions:

What exactly makes water weight different (in quality) than a normal pound? by that I mean, what makes someone who is 130 differ from a guy who is 140 with that extra 10 lbs in water weight?

Also, I still dont get it, is creatine a pill or is it a powder like whey protein?

One last q, is this water weight as easily lost through sweating and whatnot as it is gained?

Thanks guys, your always a helping hand to me.

*sigh*

1. what makes the two men different is that one is holding more water in his muscles than the other guy. he weighs 10 lbs more, and its (supposedly) all water weight. That's it. Nothing magic about that.

2. Creatine comes in a pill form, which is just the encapsulated powder. Buy powder, its cheaper.

3. No one has ever wasted time studying this. water retention has a great deal to do with sodium levels in the body, as well as other chemicals (like creatine) that alter the body's water levels. Obviously when you sweat, you're losing water. How much is lost...who knows...who cares. As long as you're drinking about 1gallon a day, you're good to go.

Well... does the water that is being retained in his muscles make any difference other than appearence wise?

nope, not really. it does make you feel more pumped up, but a lot of people don't notice much water weight gain either.
