I currently lift weights for 45min-1hr on M/W/F and do 30min of cardio(stat. bike) on T/Th/S. Some people have said that its better to do cardio right after weights if your trying to lose fat. My main goal right now is to lose fat, with any muscle gain being a bonus. Would it be better if i just switched to doing weights and cardio on the same day every other day?
I currently take only Sundays off, and I feel like I am wasting time by not doing anything. What can I do on my off days that still let me burn some fat/calories but are still considered as a rest day?
Also on cardio, how high should I go as far as HR. The bike has a built in HR monitor, which im guessing is relatively accurate. I go as high as 140-160 range as I get closer to finishing my workouts. What is the target area that I should go for? While taking BP readings while laying down and sitting at my desk, I routinely get anywhere between 55-60 BPM. I am also a 25 year old male if that helps.
Thanks for the help. I am just trying to maximize my gains for the work that I am putting in to getting healthier.
