question about how many pounds to lose in a week.

I currently started my weight loss plan about a month ago, i was always told that you should never lose more then 2lbs in a week. I have been eating good about 1500 calories a day and am definitely not starving myself in any way or over exercising (i go to the gym once a week), but i am averaging about 4lbs a week, but wouldn't a person who is over 100lbs overweight tend to loose quicker in the first few months then someone who is say 50lbs overweight??

It depends on how big you are to begin with... 2-4 pounds a week for weight loss is perfectly fine.
In fact, the first week you could lose 10lbs and be just fine... a lot is water weight.

When i started out i was 309lbs and i started with a clean eating program, i gave up sweets, processed foods, breads, fried foods, any kind of junk food thats all i did. I was eating several times a day i wasn't in any way starving myself just eating cleaner and increasing protein intake and i have done that for about a month and so far have lost 16lbs which averages 4lbs a week so i just wanted to make sure that was normal for someone who is over 300lbs.
