Sport Question About Homemade Burgers, Fries, and Problems Eating Fruit

Sport Fitness
Great forums you guys have here. I've been changing my diet so I don't take as much junk and trying to eat more healthy foods. I have a couple of questions.
First of all how bad are burgers and fries if you make them yourself? I mean a burger cooked on a grill or in a frying pan with a little oil and fries cooked in vegetable oil. I mean they can't be as bad as McDonalds or anything, but are they still "bad".
Second, I have a serious issue with eating fruit. Almost every time I try to eat a fresh piece of fruit I loose my lunch. I mean I puke almost immediately. I take a few bites then my mouth starts to get all mucousy (sp?) and I can't spit it out fast enough. Then a few minutes later I hurl. It's been like this for as long as I can remember. It's almost like my body just rejects any fruit I try to injest. I don't expect you guys to tell me what is wrong with me, but I could use some ideas on how to make up for the nutrients I'm missing out on. Oh, by the way... I CAN drink as many fruit smoothies from the smoothie shop as I can handle.

I don't think burgers are bad if you take off the grease with a paper towel. that's what i do. as for fries, i'm sure they're still bad considering the fact that they're fried, even if you're frying them yourself. maybe you're allergic to fruit or something. have you tried like apple juice or orange juice?

fruit

Thanks for the response. Well, I can drink juices. Apple, cranberry, guava, etc. Orange juice still has a similar effect on me (sometimes), but it doesn't make me throw up.

Well, bananas, oranges, plums, apples, peaches, tangeriens, all make me sick. The other day I ate a pear on my way to work and I ended up blowing chuncks down the storm drain on the side of the street. Eeew. I seem to be able to handle dehydrated cranberries and pick them up in bulk when I go shopping. I just pour a bowl of them and eat it with a spoon like cereal. I'm getting a blender so maybe I make some sort of fruit shake/smothie deal with the cranberries, but I'm still looking for some other fruits that I can handle.

I certainly am not a nutrionist, but it almost sounds like a psychological reaction to the fruit. If you can drink juices and eat dehydrated fruits, I'd think it was all mental. But, I'm not crazy about fruits either, so nevermind. Disregard this post...

I substituted real hamburgers with turkey burgers and cook them on the George Foreman grill. They have half the fat, and taste just as good.

Choose the leanest ground beef you can find, OR find a lean piece of beef and have the butcher grind it for you. I can't imagine there would ever be a need to put oil on a pan when frying a burger, no matter how lean you get them, they are pretty much self lubricating :) Hit the grill for sure(or even the broiler) at least that way the grease can escape.
