Question about home exercises!

Hello, I do all my exercises at home and I was wondering if it is more beneficial to do these everyday or to do them like 3 times a week. Lately I have been doing chip ups, pull ups, push ups, body weight squats, dips, and crunches everyday, and then running every other day. I am just wondering if it is more beneficial to do these everyday or to give myself a day of rest in between? Which will give me better results? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Furyz

how long have you been doing that particular routine?
Dont forget your body gets used to things in about 4-6 weeks, so make sure you change your workout if you've been doing the same thing for longer than that.
Bodyweight exercises are extremely effective when done daily too, (assuming you're working towards fat loss/weight loss) so i would replace a couple of your runs with your bodyweight routine.

So you are saying I should run even less than twice a week and do my routine? I have not been doing this routine long and a friend is kind of helping me out and guiding me. I am also going to get a jump rope and try and do that every other day or so, supposedly its great cardio and works a lot of different muscle groups from what I have been reading, has anyone tried jumping rope and did it work out for you?

Thanks a lot guys and gals, I am new to this all the information helps a ton!

hi furyz,

i think your work out consistency is good considering your just starting, however when it comes to muscle building exercises, as they get stronger its better to train 1-2 times a week as you increase your loads and intensity.

For now, keep it up but make sure your muscles get sufficient recovery. A good idea is to roster some exercises and some muscle groups if you are going to do it on a near daily basis. Like that, while you are working one part of your body on that day, the other parts are repairing and ready to work with greater intensity the next day. Similarly with cardio. If all your leg muscles are burnt out, consider upper body cardio. I hope this has been helpful.
