Question about Hiit

Hey guys :)

I lost a lot of weight a few years ago using hiit.

Squats - push ups - lunges - raised push ups - star jumps - mountain climers.

I now don't have the space that I had and can't make as much noise with the star jumps and mountain climbers.

I was wondering if sets of squats and push ups would be enough or is the variety part of hiit? Thanks.
 
I really think you would need to add a cardio move in to have it still be hiit. But I am not to familiar with it and have only done a few workouts like that. What about adding in squat punches or another low impact cardio move (torso twists with side or front kicks or similar)?
