question about foods and excersices

Hello. I weight 166 lbs and am thin. But I have a few extra pounds on my stomach. I would like to get rid of it and then turn it into better muscle. If I wanna loose this small amount of weight Should I eat less calories or less carbs? Also If you can name some foods that have low calories and carbs that would be good. I also do 30 crunches daily. Are there other excersices I could do to loose the stomach fat? I dont have any machinery or dumbells. I do however have 2 30 pound metal arm weights. I will give an idea of what I eat almost daily. tell me if I should make changes. On a work day I will either skip breakfast or just have orange juice. then for lunch I eat turkey sandwhich on whole wheat bread, carrots, and 2 snack wells cookies, then for dinner I have whatever is made and a snack at night which is usually a bowl of chips or cookies. Well please let me know what I could do to loose this small amount of weight and turn into muscle. I dont like those foods that real bodybuilders use either like boost, protein/carb bars, carnation and eggnog. I eat normal foods. Also if you know of any shoulder and arm excersices let me know. My goal is to loose like 5 pounds or so of the fat on my stomach and then turn some of it into muscle. just firm it up a bit. Well thanks!

BIG MISTAKE!!! breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day if your skipping that your slowing your metablism down, if your short on time, make a bowl of oatmeal the night before put it in the fridge, then microwave it in the morning.

doing sit ups wont make your stomache fat go away, there is no such thing as spot training, to lose fat you need to lose it from your entire body and the best way to do that is to do cardio(running, biking, etc) it bruns fat like madness, but you should also do some moderate weight training. muscle burns fat just to excist.

another thing is cut out the junk food, your 2 snack wells cookies, and your bowl of chips or cookies, is whats killing you. if you at all serious about this the first thing that needs to go is junk food like that, you can have it once and a while but not every day as part of a meal and its terrible to have stuff like that at night.

To lose the stomach fat, do not eat any less calories or carbs - just clean up your diet. Have a real breakfast (oatmeal and egg whites and fruit). Lunch is okay, but instead of cookies, have some fruit. Be sure to eat a good supper, made w/ clean foods. And defintely get rid of the chips and cookies - have some fresh fruit instead! Much sweeter! And try to eat 5-6 meals per day instead of 3 large meals - this will keep your metabolism going at a higher rate to burn more fat.

Stop doing the crunches daily, you are over-training them. There are no exercises you can do to lose stomach fat. To lose stomach fat, you have to have a good diet. Abs are made in the kitchen!

yes unfortunently there is no such thing as spot training. you need to lose fat over the entire body to lose it on the stomache
