question about fitday

is the calories burned thing on fitday really accurate? it says i'm burning over 2500 calories a day before i even exercise. that seems like a lot!

I remember thinking fitday was a lil off, however i can't be sure.

what are your stats, its hard to be an exact science but i can give you an estimate.

list your age, weight, height and normal activity level (sit all day, stand all day, how many times you workout in a week)

I'm 20, between 150-155, 5'7''... I work in an athletic club so sometimes I'm sitting a lot and others I'm running around after kids in the day care, just depends on the day. My exercising is really sporadic. Sometimes 6 days a week, other times only 2 or 3.

To maintain your weight you need roughly 2000 calories a day. Again this is based on your activity level and stats. So if decreasing your weight is your goal then you want to try and stay in the 1500-1700 range.

So try out that range with a good diet, cardio and strength training. You should see results.

If you have any more questions just post away.

Most online calculators are estimates at best. Fitday is notorius for being off the mark. What matters is that you learn it's nuances and adjust your eating/workout until you see results.
