Question about buying food from a Deli?

This might sound stupid.

Today I bought taco salad pasta from a deli at a local grocery store (Dominick's). The container choices to fill the taco salad in were 1/2 pound, pound, and 1 1/2 pounds. I chose the 1/2 pound (as it didn't look very big at all looked like a single serving) My question is. If I ate the contents of it would I really be "eating half a pound"? As the scale displayed .51.

I doubt that I ate half a pound but it can be a little confusing.

No, it's not a stupid question, but yes... it was 1/2 of a lb.
(maybe the container weighed a little also)
Pasta, lettuce, tomato all have a lot of water in them, so at the end of the day you won't have gained 1/2 lb.
If you get 1/2 lb. of lettuce vs. 1/2 lb of cooked roast beef, your body will only use maybe 5% of the lettuce, while much more of the roast beef will be digested and used.
