Question about belly fat

Hey guys/gals,
First off, I'll give you a brief description: I'm 23 years old (male), about 6', 185 lbs. I'm an engineer so I set on my butt almost all day. I've been putting on the weight the past year since I started. (I used to be about 150 lbs...scrawny as hell) Anyway, all the weight seems to go straight to my stomach. I have put in on my arms and legs a little but I like it there. I recently bought a bowflex for weight training purposes wanting to gain muscle mass and have seen some improvement already. I currently do no cardio as I'm waiting for warmer weather to do some outside. I'm eating right and drinking protein shakes often but I'm worried cause it all seems to go to my stomach. Is there anything I can do about this problem in that certain area? I don't wanna lose it anywhere else. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

who cares about the cold once you get going you wont notice it at all you need cardio if you want any true results. or buy a treadmill or a gym pass at a rec centre they are dirt cheap there.

as for the protein shakes how many are you having a day and when... you should really only be having them within an hour after your work out to get the best absorption buy your muscles other then that dont have them.

pretty much the best thing you can do is cadio if your truely serious about getting in shape you'll brave the cold... unless its like -50C then youll just die in like 10 minutes.

Did you know that when you excercise in the cold (for me that's with air conditioning because I'm in a tropical country hehe) you tend to lose more calories by doing the same thing? Why? Because since calories generate heat, your body would struggle more to regulate it's own "internal heating system" ^_^ I wish I could get a bowflex. I've heard so much about them but it seems it's not available here (yet if they are, i probably couldn't afford them).

Thanks for the replies guys

To johnfdz,
if you ever get a chance to get a bowflex, I highly recommend it. I suggest you get the Bowflex Sport. It's very close in comparison to the top of the line model (the Ultimate) and less than half the price. Of course with the Ultimate you get a little better quality and a few extra bells and whistles, but as far as the exercises go, for what I want, I could tell no big difference. I picked up my Sport for $799 new.

O_O thanks but maybe if i win the lottery hehe i'm just a regular guy paying a gym 45$ a month to get into shape.

Yep. That's not bad at all considering what I went to the store to buy...the Ultimate. It's $2000 (American). And I really couldn't tell a big difference as far as exercises between it and the Sport, so I opted for it.
