Pushups

Hey guys,
I have a question if someone can answer it for me. I am wandering if pushups is a good exercise for chest. Does it really work??

if your just starting to workout then there good..i remember when i started working out i use to do tons of push ups a week..after like 2 months i could see my chest start to pop out..but now i just do them for a warm up..
 
yeah once you can do over 50 in one set, you're not really working the muscle right.. well not if you're training for strength or size anyways..
