Pushups - With Injury

I broke my wrist last year. There are two bones running to your hand and I broke one completely from my hand. The doctor put it back into place but it feels its slipping off. It hurts a little bit, but not drastically when I do pushups.

Should I give them a miss altogether for safe reasons?
Or should it not matter at all?

I went to doctor later to tell him, and he said I might encounter a little pain every now and then but it should be cool.

Has anyone else had a similar thing? Should I give the pushups away or stick with em? Or just do them less?

Cheers

hmm ... its risky business .. but its up to you if it feels safe or not.
if u feel exesive pressure and like its gona go again ... id steer clear. but if u feel that its not crossing the line then if pushups are worth it... then go for it.
you could find another exercise to do your shoulders .. or whatever your aiming for.

and another alternative is that you could do wrist exercises to strengthen the muscle around your wrist .... just like small wrist curls with small weight or those things u can squeeze.

just my 2cents

i had

i had the same thing happen to my leg. i broke the smalller bone that runs up my shin, actually i pretty much turned it into powder i broke it so badly. i got a metal plate put in to help it heal correctly.

if its healed the right way and it is not crooked then i believe that it should actualyl be stronger. when bones break they grow back thicker, i actually had to have the bone in my leg shaved down because it grew back too thick. the doctor told me that the chances of me breaking the same bone again are slimmer than me breaking the same bone on the other leg. this is because it has grown back stronger.

however the chances of it hurting are greater. im also likely to get arthritus. it may hurt u, which is normal or u may be dealing with arthritus, or the bone has grown back together too thick. consult ur doctor again with specific questions about training or see a sports doctor...they will find a way for u to work out.
