push ups

hi i started boxing training yesterday and although im good at the boxing the one thing i struggled with was the fitness side of things especially push ups so any tips on how to do push ups properly would be greatly appreciated.

keep a flat back and locked knees. start with hands on a raised surface and as you gain strength go down to flat. you can then go on to vary hand positions (width apart and at different heights etc.) you could also try the bench press, best to use freeweights as you utilise the stabiliser muscles which are also utilised in push ups.
