push up and sits as part of my warm up?

i have been doing this before both running and lifting so thats basically 6 days a week
its nothing big, just 20 of each
is this useless or even detrimental?

i have another question thats kinda not related:
is it ok to do some workout isolations at a different time or day than your full body workout? sometimes i just dont have time to get everything i want in a single session

i remember seeing T pushups as an active warmup in NROL. pushups are probably fine...just dont make it a work set. same with situps. inchworms were also on the warmup list.

and theres pretty much no reason why you shouldnt be able to fit your iso in with your workout. maybe superset to save time. anyway, iso's arent important. just assistance. dont do them apart from your routine

It's not necessarily useless, but it's not a good idea to do the same thing every day. You're simply not giving yourself enough rest for the muscle groups. But if you're only doing 20 of each, and this isn't really fatiguing the muscles, and you find it makes you more limber for the run...then keep it in, no problem.

As for the workout splits. Unless your a professional athlete or bodybuilder you are unlikely to need, or even benefit from, two-a-day workouts. If you're unable to perform you FBW in an hour, getting in everything you have planned, then you are either moving too slowly or trying to squeeze in too much.

Hard to say without seeing your actual workout, post it and we can all have a look at it.

do you get tiered from the situps? Fatiguing the core before heavy lifts like squats and deads is really not a good idea. And its not like you will be doing the situp motion in any of the main lifts anyways. If you do pushups, do pushup pluss, protract your shoulderblades (push them forward) at the end of the pushup, that way you activate the serratus anterior more, which is an important muscle in stabilizing and keeping the scapulae where it should be
