punching bag

Hey every1 recetnly as of yesterday my tredmill broke. I have been doing HIIT for the last month. I'm in the cutting stage and for the first month I lost 8-9 pounds doing this. I have no problems with my weight training or diet, it seems as if all of this is working perfectly. I can run around the block if I want but I was wondering If i can use hitting the heavy bag as a subsittiue for 30 minutes 5-6 times a weak until the tredmill is fixed. Will this help with weight loss or will it slow it down? put me on a plateau? or what, any advice is nice

As long as you get your heart rate up to that 90-95% of max then your right there at that HIIT stage. Not sure if you can do that punching a bag or not. But its all up to your heart rate and how hard your body is actually working. I'd stick to running the block. Maybe hit the bag an additional 20 minutes after you run that might help sustain your heart rate at a higher rate rather than just going at the heavybag for 30 minutes. If you've only been doing HIIT then you might want to take the opportunity to change your training from Interval to fat burn cardio (keeping that HR lower for about 45-60 minutes) then hit the bag or not. Always keep your body guessing whats next!!!!! Hope this helped.
