PT's: Session times

Ok, I'm going to start a bunch of threads in here that are actually related to the section content. While I'm happy to help people asking generic fitness Q's, this isn't the place for it, and it seems people need a reminder of that fact.

So, PT's, how long do your sessions run for? And when do you work?

30 min? 45 min? 60 min? More? Less?

Do you work in the mornings? Lunchtime? Evenings? 2am?

Most of my sessions run an hour, except for a small group training on the TRX which is only 40 minutes. On occasion, I have had the client that only wants 30 minutes - but that is pretty rare.

At this point, I try to keep all of my clients/classes during the day - while the kids are at school. This is my "fun" job, so I am trying to not let it take away from my family life.

That's pretty good that you can actually make a day job out of PT, rather than working odd hours. I'd love to do that, rather than working early mornings or into the night. How much PT work do you do in a typical week, and how long did it take you to build up to that much, if you don't mind me asking?

It is not so easy to keep the PT to daytime - as most people who can "afford" it are working then ;)

As I mentioned, this is my "fun" job - it is not a job that puts food on the table, pays our bills, or clothes the children!! For a long time I would train/teach whenever I was needed - but I got to a point where I did not want to be out so much (especially at night) - and have fairly recently been under a different mind-set. I have re-vamped my schedule, and started at a new facility in November. At this point I am teaching 6-10 classes a week, 1 small group session, and 1 one-on-one. I also volunteer at the high school once a week for their Advanced PE class!

Most of my sessions are 60 mins, but sometimes insurance/rehab sessions are 30 mins.

Right now I'm usually working Monday-Friday somewhere between 8am to 6pm. I'm able to do this because I often work with injured people who are off work or not able to work full time, or retired people when it comes to some of the chronic disease based stuff. I work some Saturdays as well, but not all that frequently.
