Im new to running and weight lifting ive been at it for 6 weeks and the running/walking 4 miles a day has helped me go from 290 lbs down to 248 lbs also a strict diet. My question is this, Is it ok for me to drink a protein shake after i run/walk 4 miles. Any advise would be greatlyappreciated.

Of course it's okay! :) If you're still in a caloric deficit, you'll still be losing weight, and there's nothing wrong with a bit of extra protein :)

I would say it's OK as well, just be careful about your overall calories if you're still trying to lose weight.

Might make me sound more stupid but don't forget to count the calories of the milk you put it into as well lol :)

Not stupid at all... you'd be surprised how many people don't count the calories that they drink!

Protein shakes are the most effective drinks for both the pre workout and post workout period it consumes many benefits for health and also to preserve plan tissues.

I don't know if it makes any sort of a difference, but I did notice the new Gatorade "recover" drink is the only Gatorade product with protein in it. So, it probably is a good idea.

I drink milk (1% - about 12 oz) after a run but take a scoop of protein after lifting weights.
