protein question

hi it's me robert again i just found a deit to get me all the protein i need in a day but i heard that my body will not absorb all of it so can someone please explane that to me thanks a lot. p.s on my lst post alot of you think i'm alone when i workout but i always have my dad of friend with me.

If you have loads and loads of protein your body won't absord it all and it will just go straight through your system - although long term overloading your body with protein can strain your kidneys. However, this is only if you have loads of protein and you probably aren't going to have too much, especially if you are not using protein specific supplements (eg. powders.)

Certain studies have shown that your body can only absorb about 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight. Whether this is true or not I do not know. However, it is best to consume protein in small amounts throughout the day at every meal, as opposed to clumping it all up in one or two servings. Usually for people attempting to build/keep muscle 1-1.5g per lb of bodyweight is the target.

Sorry, not a reply, but another question regarding protein:
Quickly - I am c 200lbs with more body fat than I want. (good shape) I am currently taking 90g daily of whey and 30 of soy (until my supply is done). My wife thinks that my neck/chin is getting doubled - the first place I show "fat". GENERALLY speaking, with 3x weekly lifting and 2x 30m cardio, can this c120g supplimental protein (in skim milk) add more weight?

It could, but I doubt that's the problem.
